Day 49 - Saturday 26th Aug
.
ND- Begrudgingly packed up our packs, left the Pearle and headed back to the Cable Beach caravan park.
As far as CV parks go it's really good. We secured a lovely spot by the pool and near the playground so everyone's happy. (Well not Grace....she's in one of her moods that seem to be consistent on leaving hotel accommodation!)
Before parking up the van we did a bit more exploring of Broome.
.
Tim had told us to check out Gantheaume Point. I just assumed JD had the route under control when we set off but when we were a significant way along a red sand track and the van slowed almost to standstill and started to loose traction my anxiety adrenalin kicked in! Even JD started to sweat profusely as he switched from auto to first gear, the old girls definitely NOT an off road vehicle. His concern more about embarrassment of having to be towed out if we get bogged! Glad I wasn't driving, we made it! Despite the drama of the road trip it was well worth the visit. The red rocks, the pure white sand, the crystal clear turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, clear blue sky and even a lone turtle swimming off shore. Broome is just so incredibly beautiful!
We saw the moulds of the dinosaurs footprints which are apparently visible at very low tide.
.
Our trip back to town a lot easier on the sealed section of road!!!!!!!
After dropping off the flat battery at the local tip we set the van up under the tree at our poolside spot.
.
Spent the afternoon on Cable Beach before cocktails, sunsets and photography session. A couple of wedding parties to admire.walked back to the van to change, before walking back to the beach for some dinner at the Sunset bar. Walked back to the van. Only downside to having a motor home, close but not close enough for some.
.
Broome is stunning one day, perfect the next! Love this place!
