Went for a walk near our hotel in the morning and figured out transport links. Bus, Metro, trams, railway. One of the bonuses of being over 65 is that all the previously mentioned are all free in Hungary! Our taxi driver, Peter, came back for us at 12 and took us to the boat. Flight was late but caught up some time so only 15 minutes late landing. Very interesting contest on the flight to see which of the 4 staggers could make the most noise and drink the most beers. Didn't hear a single word of the flight safety info or the captains progress reports.Were picked up at the airport and taken to our hotel with no problems whatsoever. We were quite tired so just went to a Hungarian restaurant near our hotel and had an early night.

Breakfast was from 6.30 to 11am. How can anyone keep eating breakfast constantly for 4 and a half hours? Only joking. Still had to finish juggling stuff in suitcases as Jet 2 don't allow you to combine luggage and one was half empty and 2 kilos over while the other was straining at the seams and 7 kilos under. This morning after breakfast we sat in the lounge until called for our taxi which got us to our hotel with a guided commentary all the way! We got into our room immediately which was a bonus. What a lovely room. Biggest bathroom I've ever seen in a hotel room. There was even a desk in the room and decent Lan and wifi. Bonus after no internet since Monday. Arrived in Budapest while at breakfast this morning. Excellent tour as usual with a friendly knowledgeable guide. What a beautiful city. However the heat was dreadful. 34 at one point. Had to start packing in the afternoon so we didn't go out in the hottest part of the day but in the late afternoon it was still very hot. In the evening there was a Hungarian folk band, singer and dancers. The dancers were fantastic.
