Got up early as I wanted to get the 0650 bus as we wanted to be at Gare de L'est by 0725. When we went downstairs they let us go in to breakfast half an hour before it officially started so had coffee and croissants. In the morning got the bus to the Pompidou Centre. Just beside the bus stop was a Nike shop. I was dragged inside. George bought a tee shirt and I wasn't letting him away with that so I got a tee shirt too. Then we actually visited the centre. Interesting building.After that we walked to Notre Dame where we'd arranged to meet Tom McKinlay, a friend of mine from University who now lives near Paris. Can't believe how easily we recognised each other...

Took the metro to the Eiffel Tower and walked back from there all the way down the Champs Élysées to Notre Dame and then back to our hotel. More photos to follow.

Arrived at CDG airport to brilliant sunshine but as we traveled on the RER it started to rain and was absolutely pouring by the time we got off the train. Half way to the hotel it dried up though. Tired after travelling so had a look on trip advisor for local restaurants and found Petit Pascal just yards from our hotel.
