Tender boat from Ship to shore. Then cable car to Fira at the top of the crater. It is such a pretty island with the whitewashed buildings but a lot of steps. The tourist season has not really started yet so there are plenty of buildings being painted. Docked this morning at Piraeus. Took a hop on hop off bus into Athens. Got off at the acropolis and walked up to the Parthenon. Public holiday so free admission. Bonus. Great day for it. After coming back down I could hardly believe I'd managed to walk up to that height up that steep incline but I made it. Then jumped on the round Athens bus and did the complete circle. After breakfast this morning went ashore. It was a bit hazy but it looked like the sun was trying to break through. Still the same at 12 and a breeze off the sea so decided to go back to the ship for lunch and George's jacket. After lunch back into the town and this time lovely and warm. No breeze and the clouds had disappeared. The moral of the story is to take a jacket to ensure sunny weather.
