Love it here in Passau. Our last stop in Germany. Our guide who was French told us that Hitler fell in the river here as a young child and someone saved him. Pity. The old town is beautiful. They have a problem with flooding as they are on a peninsula with 3 rivers. The Danube, the Inn and the Iltz. A lot of the buildings have had to have all the plaster removed and replaced to second floor height as the water came up to that level in June 2013. The guide...

Visited Regensburg today. George had been here before on a school trip. He didn't remember much but noticed that a lot of the old medieval buildings had been restored. Could only see the inside of the cathedral from the back as a new bishop was being made so there was a special service. The church bells were wonderful to hear.

Lovely day again although the programme said there was a 60% chance of showers in the afternoon. Excellent guide today. When the tour was finished we could go back to the boat or skip going back for lunch and get picked up at 3pm. We decided on the latter. First thing we did was get a "bier" und ein "eischokolatte".
