With a night of screaming kids beside us were happy to get away from other campers. The sun was out and the wind had died down although it did return later in the day. With 850 km's still to Barcelona in 4 days we headed off north making for Alicante. We did spend a while exploring Cabo national park as we made our way along the coast. Very beautiful desert again with the Mediterranean beside us. With the sun shining it made the waters glisten like glass. It was about 20 degs and the wind hadn't picked up yet so it was pretty spectacular. We stopped at a small village, name escapes me, to watch some divers returning to shore. We wandered through the quiet streets and up to a look out for great views of the town and ocean. It was then time to spend a few hours in the car. We let the gps guide us to avoid tolls and freeways. We travelled through Sierra de Baza, up past Cartagena then in to Alicante. Not liking what we saw we headed to Benidorm, which was like the gold coast, and found a Maccas for free wifi. We discovered that there was lots of free camping in Calp so headed there and found a lot of campers parked in the streets. We drove around a bit longer and found a deserted few acres of scrubland where a couple of other campers were set up. We dived in, found a nice little spot and set up for the night. After dinner we were happy to watch a movie and have a good sleep. We are only 400 k's from Barcelona now so we can relax and take it easier than we have. Will have a wander in Calp in the morning then hit the road again. Seeing amazing countryside but must admit I miss a real bed, and two showers a day.
