Good news everyone. No bed bugs! It was nice sleeping in a bug free bed, although I did set the alarm for early hours so I could check the beds. I woke at 4,5 & 6 and got the torch out. I mostly checked Jacs bed just to make sure and it was a relief not to find anything.
I let Jac slept until about 12pm as she needed it. The poor thing has bites all over her body and hasn't slept much for the previous few nights. She is itchy and the welts are huge. We had planned to go to the movies again today and grab some calamine lotion to ease the pain. But first we did a skype to the BFF (you know who you are, happy new year brother).
From there it was off to the flicks. As we were running behind schedule the decision was made to go to the chemist after. We would have plenty of time. After watching Chronicles of Narnia, which was so so, we made our way back to the shopping strip. It was 3.30pm and everything was closed. Come on Frankfurt, you're joking with us aren't you? We wandered around but no luck. It was starting to get dark so grabbed a pizza and headed home. Don't want to be stabbed on NYE.
We've been watching a countdown of the 100 top songs of 2010. Drinking bourbon and just chilaxing. Also watching all the dejected guys seeing the brothel closed. No new years snu snu for you. Save your money and back home to the wives losers.
It sounds like a war zone outside. There are fireworks going off everywhere. We thought about going to the fireworks on the river but came across the following:
"As for fireworks at midnight, again, there is no official display, but the Main river banks resemble a scene from a war film when locals shoot off their own fireworks. As it’s New Year, most of these people are drunk and it can get dangerous on the ground. Fireworks are shot at cars, buildings and as people get more drunk, at each other, so be careful and venture forth at your own risk."
As a result we have stayed in. Tomorrow is Saturday and we are off Monday, which can't come quick enough. We're out of movies so not sure what we will do over the weekend. There's not too much to see in Frankfurt but we will get in what sights there are. Want to spend a few hours at an Internet cafe uploading photos from the last few weeks so stay tuned. Finally happy new year everyone. We hope you have the most amazing year of your lives. We think about you all constantly and can't wait to catch up soon. Our love and good wishes go out to each and every one of you. Xoxo

Margaret Happy New year to you both - glad the bed bugs have gone. You have certainly experienced bugs on a few continents. I can't believe that so many places have these monsters in the beds.

Chrissy Happy New Year guys! Glad to hear there are no bugs in the new bed! If you can get hold of a hire car, I'd HIGHLY recommend that you grab one and head for Heidelberg, not that far from Frankfurt (easy day trip) but it is absolutely STUNNING, beautiful castle up on the cliff, beautiful grounds and a beautiful cobbled stone main street!
Ads Happy New Year guys. glad to hear there's no bugs now. shame Frankfart is crap but hey, you could be working
