Mary River
After a leisurely morning we packed up to move on out of Berry Springs. We all had a few things to do at the shops so we split up and did what we had to do. The final activity of the morning was getting more lures, like the boys needed more.
We had a few hours to fill in before going to our crocodile tour so we ended up at Hogs Breathe Cafe. We had a lovely lunch and a few cold beers.
Our tour was at 3.00pm so we had to make a mad dash out there. The trip was called the Spectacular Jumping Crocodile Cruise and it lived up to its name sake. The tour only went for an hour but it was well worth it seeing the crocs up so close . The staff made the crocs jump high out of the water to get some meat. This made for fantastic photos. The girl also fed out mince to the beautiful kites who took the feed mid-air. It really was an informative tour.
We then had a short drive out to Mary River Wilderness Retreat. We arrived at about 5.00pm. We arrived at about 5.00pm and set up camp. This really is a beautiful camp ground. We were parked on a big grassy site with magnificent trees and lots of shade. The wallabies were all out and about and it made for a lovely sight.
We all had an early night but still ended up falling asleep during our TV series.
11th August, 2015,
We woke up to another beautiful sunny day and went for a quick walk. We didn't really do a lot for the morning but after lunch Colin and Joe hired a boat and tried their luck fishing the Mary River. No fish but plenty of freshwater and salt water crocs were seen. Jenny and Wendy went up for a swim at the camp ground pool. It was a really relaxing afternoon.
At 5.00pm we went up to the bar for happy hour. The drinks were cheap and we had a lovely time talking to other guests at the campground. Back to camp for a quiet night.

Today was a complete day of relaxation, a lazy day. We were back and forward to the pool to cool off all day and then in the afternoon enjoyed the half price beers during happy hour. if we slow down any more than this we may never get home, at least not this year.
