Crew Frivolous
Yulara, Early start after a beautiful night of listening to the harmonics of a set of diesel generators at synchronous speed, any shift worker would have slept like a baby. Off to Uluru (ayes rock for those who have no culture), Joe and Colin with the intent of climbing the Rock, Jenny and Wendy waiting patiently for their hero's to return. The climb was a breeze, a lie, two middle aged men struggling up a mere 350 m vertical climb, why do it I hear, its all about the challenge. This rock has gotten steeper and the climb longer in the thirteen years since I have climbed it last. After a lot of pain and several heart attaches, the summit was reached, this rock is massive. At the top I could hear faint voice saying "Coln Coln Coln", it must have been voices from the gods. A few selfies had to be taken for proof of achievement and then the descent. This hill is not good on the knees on the way down, this may have taken longer than the ascent. As we stepped off the rock our wives greeted us with admiration in their eyes, kidding, “how long does it takes to climb this rock”.
Next it was onto the Culture Centre to find culture, couldn’t find it so we moved on. Onto the Olgas, got lost cos we didn’t know the aboriginal name for the rocks. Took some pics and then off to Curtain Springs for lunch. A lovely lunch was had on a patch of green grass (a rarity about these parts) enjoying the sport of many travellers, watching the grey nomads park their caravans.
Off to Kings Canyon for the next adventure. Found a campsite, set up and then off to take pics of the setting sun on the West McDonald Ranges. We got some instruction from a neighbouring site as to where to go for the best pics, she must be still rolling around her caravan floor with laughter, we missed the sunset.

Jen Have I said that commentary is hilarious...There's a lot to be said for the spoken word, particularly when we write it down.
