Hello everyone, I am now well into my travels around the south Island and am having a great laugh as not only have the majority of the group I travelled the North Island with stayed together but I have also met a lot of great new people. W have now been through Westport but nothing of major note happened there although we did take a ride on a jet boat which was quite a good laugh. Yesterday we were at Lake Mahinapua where we were all looking forward to the on infamous fancy dress party at the Lake Mahinapua hotel, which is run by the oldest publican in New Zealand. His name is Les, he is 82 and an absolute legend. The theme for the fancy dress night was the letter P or Friday 13th. Earlier in the day Me, Liam, Mike, James and Peter decided we were going to go as the Power Rangers. Dressing up in the room before though we decided to change to the Power Poofs as we looked more like gimps than the Power Rangers. I think when you check out the photos you will probably agree. The night was brilliant, everyone made a really good effort and was in good spirits. There is no point in writing too much about the night, I will let the pictures do the talking. We have literally just arrived in Franz Josef and are staying at the Rainforest Retreat, which is really nice. We will be staying here a couple of nights as tomorrow we are doing an 8hr hike of the one of the fastest moving glacier which is going to be a right laugh. Hope everyone is well, see ya.
