Well, what a day! Lesley went off on her city tour this morning while I had a walk around the town. It's a lovely place and there was a market on with stuff on sale from all over Norway. There was even some fudge, which I managed to resist! I did stop for a coffee and listened to a very good band, but then left to get back to the ship. Arrived right in the middle of a fire drill, but managed to get a coffee and read some of my book.

I left the ship as Les came back and got on the bus for my hiking tour. When the guide eventually got us to the start, he seemed a little lost, but, we set off confidently in his wake. After an hour or so, climbing over fallen trees and crossing a small stream, myself and another walker started to get a little concerned! When we started to cross a golf course, it got a little more worrying, but on we went, with the more frail walkers tailing far behind. Eventually, having nearly lost the "guide" we got to the end and met up with the other group who had had a lovely time! Our guide seemed unable to answer ojur qjuestions, but did not seem worried in the least. He got reported when we got back to the ship.

What should have been a nice stroll in the woods, turned out to be a very worrying afternoon with two of us taking care of a group which contained walkers ill-equipped for the terrain. It all ended well, but, it could have ended so badly!
