We had a bit of a lie in this morning as we had no outings planned, so, we got up later than usual and had a leisurely breakfast before takng the free shuttle bus into town. Haugesund is not a very big place so we had a look around the church and town centre and headed for the tourist information centre, where we bumped into a couple of friends from the ship. After a quick chat, we decided it would be an adventure to head off on the local bus to the other end of the island. Tickets purchased, we waited for the bus and headed off.
We ended up in the lovely village of Saugensund. What a very pictueresque place - narrow winding streets with quaint houses leading down to the waterfront. We walked around for about an hour, stopped and had a beer and then caught the bus back. We then had a walk through the town and back to the harbour. Gin and Tonics by the pool, followed by a quick shower and change for the Captains's Farewell Reception and dinner. It's a hard life if you don't weaken.
Tomorrow is a day spent at sea and we arrive back at Harwich on Saturday morning. The end of a fabulous holiday is fast approaching.
