Went though the Sapphire gem fields... chatted to a couple of grey nomads who were fossicking though some wash they'd purchased ($10). They had found themselves a few nice souvenirs but obviously nothing of real worth.

In the little town of Anakie they had a bottle tree near the train station that soliders in WWI had engraved with their initials before they boarded the train to go to war. As the tree has grown the initials have gone up with it….you can still see many of them high up in the tree.
