When we got back from the cruise we spent a few days in the Gold Coast and a mate came over from Perth to visit us there. We rented a really nice apartment on the 26th floor overlooking the beach and river; great spot! We spent most of the time doing activities like Outback Spectacular, Draculas Haunted House, Draculas Show and Dream World. Dream World was the best!!

After the Gold Coast we all headed to Byron Bay for the day, went to a couple of pubs and then trekked up to the 'Most Easterly Point of Australia' (Cape Byron). We were lucky to get nice weather that day so we were able to have a swim at the beach.

Our mate was flying out that night, back to Perth, so we dropped her at the airport and then made tracks to find somewhere to camp.

We attempted for the 3rd time to get to Springbrook National Park to see the natural bridge and yet again came across road closures but, a worker told us that there was another way around. The worker also told us that they didn't expect to be done with the road works until Christmas time because Cyclone Debbie had caused 50+ landslides throughout the National Park. Anyway we took the detour around and finally made it to the Natural Bridge … we were glad that we did because it was beautiful.
