My Family Travels
What a trip! I can't believe it is over already! This was such a great experiance! I will treasure this forever. The flight back to the States was uneventful. It was so sad leaving Max. I think we all had tears in our eyes. The line to check in was so long at the Rome airport. And we had our own wing of hte airport for American flights. We laughed - stick the Americans in the corner! Jacob gave us his "historical" outlook of this airport as we stood there. Jeremy and I wandered around a bit, trying to use up a few more Euro. This airport seemed extremely unorganized. When it was time to board, we couldn't believe that there was really no line! Just a huge mob. Jeremy and I were sad we were stuck in the center seats until we found out that Becky and Jordan were sitting next to us! Actually all of us were pretty close together. I watched lots of movies and played lots of Solitare. I tried sleeping, but I just can't get comfy enough. Thankfully I had my pashmina along! A very nice extra blanket. We tried to do another "Roman" tour at the Detroit airport - fountains, Metro, lots of people We were very excited to be back in the States.
I am so glad I went on this trip. I have always wanted to go overseas. This was exactly how I imagined my first trip. Tons of 'touristy" traps and a few added bonus activities. Everytime I travel, I fall in love with traveling all over again. God has made such an amazing creation, so diverse. Best of all, God blessed the relationship between me and my brother! I could not imagine this trip without him. I can't think of many people who would want to go on a trip with their siblings. But Jeremy and I both agree that we will someday take another trip together. We many not always agree, but he is a great friend. Now it is time to get back to reality - work, responsibilities, life. But a little part of me will always be in Italy. Or actually a little piece of italy will always be with me!
Pictures are of a few oddities we encountered on our trip.
