So Nebraska is one of the longest states to drive through. There is a whole lot of nothing. We woke up early to get going to Omaha. There we were going to visit one of Amanda's friends from college. The first night there we just hung out and played games. I love just hanging out with friends, new and old. The next day we went to the Heartland of America Park. That was such a great place. Watching all the people running around the park at lunch made me want to run! We walked around the cute pond in the middle with a huge fountain! The boys walked a bit more while us girls sat down to feed the baby. Then we took a walk by the river. Nebraska has been having a ton of flooding lately. My mom actually asked me if we were going to be near the flooded river at all. We walked along the boardwalk. It was amazing to see where the river was supposed to be and where it was right now.
That evening we went to the Botanical Garden for a night of music. I love going to gardens. It is such a family thing for me. I have grown up going to gardens as part of vacations. So it amazes me when other people suggest it. The Omaha Gardens were really nice. We wandered around for about 45 minutes before going back to the music. We definitely brought the average age down a bit at this concert! The people there were all ready for a night of fun. I may have been a bit jealous of all the bottles of wine that people had brought along. We did bring pizza with us. It just wasn't the same. This was another great night of just hanging out with friends.
Thus ends my long vacation of the summer!
