My Family Travels
Ok, so I still had 1 more week of school left when we went on this. But then again, the last week of school pretty much is the start of summer vacation.
Before my brother left to go to Alaska for 8 weeks we decided to take a day trip up to Door County. My parents and I go up there a few times over the course of the summer, but rarely with my brother. So it was a great surprise when he agreed to come along. Well, his girlfriend also came along. So that did help the situation. :-)
We started by driving through several of the cute little towns. Then we headed on toward the county park. I think it is the Cave Point County Park. We like this because it is very pretty and free! So for a few hours we climbed around the bluffs. It was a blast. We felt like kids again. One of the favorite moments was when my brother found a broken down tree. When we were children our parents would stick us up in trees for pictures. So we made a flash back picture on this broken down tree.
After bumming around Door County we headed back toward Appleton. On the way back we stopped to look at an eagle's nest. It was made in a subdivision in a place where we could see it from the road. It was so amazing to see the birds so up close. I have never seen an eagle that close other than in a zoo.
That's about it for this trip.
