Nice relaxing day today. Carol joined me for a 90 minute walk north along the iconic Cable Beach about 7:00am.
After a late breakfast we visited the "boulevard shopping centre" they even have Target and Woolworths!
Nice drive along Rendell Beach which reminded us of Barnhill Station, before heading back to camp.
Packed the esky about 4:30 and headed back down to Cable Beach, this time in the car and met the Hannans a k or so down the beach where they were all set up for the sunset. Had a pleasant drink watching the camel trains, an old pearl Lugger and sea plane pass by as the sunset in the Indian Ocean.
While on the beach I thought I would give the troupes a laugh so while reminiscing of when we were last here and the kids all posed in various handstand, splits and other gymnastic positions in front of the setting sun, I thought I would give them a handstand. Perhaps it was the Emu Bitter or perhaps for a split second I forgot my age, but anyway the cartwheel on the cover photo was the end result. As an ex gymnastics instructor Carol was pretty disappointed but I gave myself a 3 out of 10. 2 and a half for effort and a half for technique. You got a laugh!
