...we get up relatively early and taking advantage of good weather (first really sunny day!) we manage to climb the first high camp (5060 m asl), leave a lot of food there in a bag under a rock (a "deposit" ;)), climb a little higher up on the way to high camp 2 (5300 m asl) and then back down to base camp running down an enormous scree slope :); happy and satisfied but headache and all over tiredness again;
...we meet some Russian tourists with a local guide carrying what seemed like a 40kg backpack for them up the giant slope. Cruel...
...Piotr's camera battery dies and refuses to be recharged using any power banks or solar panels we have here so he decides to leave it in base camp for the days of the summit attack.
...we have planned to take the rest of the stuff to high camp 1 including the tent tomorrow to sleep there. And from there to plan the move to high camp 2, 3 and finally attack the summit.
Time will tell what time and in what condition we will wake up tomorrow :) Window of good weather is still expected on 12 or 13 Jan.
...I wanna buy more Internet from Inka but they say they ran out of 15 min vouchers (they get them emailed from Mendoza) and its 30 minute minimum. So absurd.. So I talk to the guy at Lanko (our provider) and he just gives me his wifi password for €10 and leaves for 1h (don't worry about the time, he says!). He also tries to charge Piotr's camera for free before (but somehow it doesn't work). So nice!
...I reconsider getting a rental sleeping bag for the higher camps but Javier tells me unfortunately despite promising me earlier he cannot loan me his. A short moment later another guys comes up and says he can loan me a synthetic one (a big bulky piece of luggage) for US$200. Khem what? Even to buy it for the price would be extortion.. Ok I'll go with my trusted Polish Yeti and see what happens..
...we eat the very last (really!) pizza, after which I stress that I lost my gloves, can't find them anywhere and can't go without them; that is a sleepless night for me. Damn!
