We sadly waved goodbye to the Monks, as they headed off to little piece of luxury, 3 nights in an apartment with Granny Ann and Poppy Blue......
We arrived in Perth to Aunty Ann and Uncle Steve's place!!! So excited to be there and enjoyed 6 nights with family. Was lovely to just laze around, and chat to Ann, Steve, Brady, Steven and Hana-and was extra special to have a play and cuddle with Luca!! Uncle Steve treated us to his beautiful cooking, and we enjoyed many a glass of wine, and long chats well into the night.
We headed in to check out Fremantle with Brady-and who should we run into.....the Monks!! Another fond reunion, play on the park and a cuddle for Granny and Poppy. Just loved Fremantle, the cafes, the shops and the vibe, on a glorious sunny day. We lunched in the very cool Little Creatures Brewery, and enjoyed a lovely coffee in one of the trendy coffee places.
We then took off to Subiaco to watch the AFL. The Fremantle Dockers played Port Adelaide. Brady (a mad Dockers supporter) came with, and we had a ball! It was awesome to have Brady there-to explain the game, and most importantly teach us when to cheer. The atmosphere was great, our seats were great, and even though the kids and I didn't really know what was going on-we had a fun time. We ended up back at Ann and Steve's about 1030pm-so much for not having any plans for the day!!
We managed to fit in some city shopping, Aden got his train ride, and we all felt we could stay for much longer! Aunty Ann took us touring, showing off the Swan Valley. We visited the nougat factory, the chocolate factory and a winery for lunch! Emma and Coen then went home with Ann, while we restocked.
In the end -it was an emotional goodbye. We felt so privalaged to spend time with our WA family, and felt like we have renewed our bond. We look forward to our next visit- one that won't be too far away.
