Another exciting border crossing-from SA into NT! Stopped for photos -of course-so many flies-we had to keep our mouths shut!! So pleased to be back in the NT. Trying to drive as far as we can today-towards Uluru. We approached the spectacular Mt Connor-and Emma and i were convinced it was Uluru!! of course it wasnt, but was an amazing mountain with a flat top. We looked on the maps-which all say-Mt Connor-"often mistaken for Uluru"!! we decided at the last minute to push on to a roadhouse-called Curtin Springs. Great decision- as it turned out to be a cattle station, and felt like a home. The camping was free-we just had to pay $3 for a shower!! Happy to pay it! Barb heard, later the next day, a traveller stopped at the free camp just up the road form Curtin Springs ( where we intended to stop). They ended up packing up camp at midnight, as a group of people arrived and partied/argued on til all hours!! We enjoyed a beer in the beer garden and people watched as the cook rang the bell for dinner and the workers arrived. We shared the camping area with an Emu, always funny, and Craig and I laughed and laughed about my emu experience at a wild life sanctuary-remember McBrides?????? This emu was very friendly too-and chased Craig around the car.
