Brenton Kovacs's Travels
Our last night in London was spent at the Sofitel Heathrow. It was really nice to be able to get up and walk straight ingto the Terminal. No traffic delays. No stress.
On arriving at Paris airport, we were quickly meet by Renault to collect our car. We have a new Megane Estate wagon. This only took a few minutes and we were on our way. And of course we got lost trying to get out of the airport area. Once our GPS get its bearings we headed to Brugge.
Arriving late in the afternoon we checked in at the Ibis (not the best hotel, but it was cheap considering the cost of other hotels). This hotel is located right in the centre of the old town.
Brugge is a step back in time. The old cobbled stone roads, the horse and carts, and the pretty old buildings. The main form of transport in Brugge is push bike.
The follow day we expolored the town more, revealing something different to discover around each corner.
Leaving Brugge today we headed to Cologne to vist the Cathederal. The drive did not take long when you can sit on 150kph and still get passed.
The Koln Cathederal is absolutley breathtaking. It is an enormus structure. The inside is just as amazing. Pictures cannot capture the enormitity of this building.
Our next destination today is the Nurburgring race track(in Nurburg), then Koblenz
The public are allowed to drive the race track, so we paid our money and off we went for 1 lap. the track is around 18 ks long.
Unfortunatley for us the track was wet and the temperature was only 3 degrees C. After about 10 corners we nearly lost control. 3 more corners later we did loose control, spinning across the track and onto the grass. Luckly for us we did not hit anything solid. All we got to show for our off road excursion was mud and grass on the car.
Arrived in Koblenz late in the afternoon. Checked into the Mercure hotel. Very nice and roomy of the Ibis in Brugge.
Our next desination is Rothenburg ob der Tauber.
Till next time

Anne Zacpal That would of bin hair rising, when you went out of control on the race track. Lucky you didn't damage the car. Now that everything is o.k. you can laugh about it now and it adds to the adventure of your trip.
