Brenton Kovacs's Travels
Leaving Iceland is a little hard, even with its extreme weather, it is such a magic place. Anyway the flight to Berlin is on time and a smooth ride all the way. My accommodation for the week is just out of the city in a district called Tempelhof.
Unfortunately for my wallet i have to make another visit to a dentist. This visit costs $320, ouch.
Berlin is a huge city of over 4 million people. The city is very spread out and has a great metro system. Berlin is a city to explore on foot, and i certainly covered many ks as the main attractions are spread all over the city. After a few days i started to use the very efficient metro, just because it makes it easier to cover more ground.
I paid a visit to the Tempelhof Airport, no longer used as an airport, but a lot of interesting history relating to the war. The tour took us from the lounges to the bunkers, all very interesting. This place is used to make movies and tv shows like Homeland.
I was lucky with the weather, only half a day of rain, the rest were cloudy with sun, cool to cold, and it snowed one morning.
What i do like about Berlin is the friendly people. Nobody seems in a rush to go anywhere, everyone is polite and courteous. I consider Berlin to be one of the most liveable cities i have visited in Europe
