After it rained most of the day (and reading about hottest days since 1976 in the UK - what?), we headed out late afternoon to food-shop like it is almost Christmas (well actually Midsummer).
The shops are closing for 2 days and so we have bought more food than we could possibly need - just like Christmas except we forgot the turkey - ridiculous really as we generally have enough food for a couple of days as we never know when we'll find a supermarket but everyone else seems to be stocking up so we do too - and we check out the Swedish wine shop as well, which turns out to have much more choice and be significantly cheaper than the equivalent one in Norway in case you're interested.
After the earlier rain the evening was beautiful and we enjoyed the last few hours of peace before the Midsummer revellers arrive tomorrow, taking advantage of the space for some athletics practice!
The sunset (at about 11) was probably the most stunning we have seen in Scandinavia - all shades of purple, pink, orange and red - before the light was dimmed for a couple of hours of almost darkness.
