We woke to a beautiful day at the top of our mountain in Oslo but with a long drive ahead we set off first thing to head North East, quickly leaving the city behind, for several hours of nothing as we drove along quiet roads through the forests of Norway (past the largest pile of logs we have ever seen waiting to be loaded onto a train). We crossed into Sweden, driving through the same Swedish forests - just with the roads suddenly taking a turn for the worse as poor Bob was assaulted by flying stones for several miles and eventually arrived at the Swedish lakes.
The scenery eventually changed and we drove through some very picturesque villages, whilst admiring glimpses of the lakes through the trees before eventually arriving at Leksand and a pitch overlooking the lake for a week. It's very quiet now but apparently by Thursday this huge campsite is fully booked for the Midsummer celebrations!
We soon settled into our pitch, the playground was found, Daniel had put up his tent and the barbecue was on. We then cycled into town along the lake to stretch the legs a little after the long drive hopeful that tomorrow we can actually get out on the lake.
