Yellowstone is absolutly incredible. Maybe the best place we have ever visited. It is so hard to describe in words how amazing this place is and even the pictures don't do it justice. We actually took nearly 200 in 2 days but havent uploaded them all.
Just before we offically entered the park we spotted a Grizzly Bear on the hills next to the road. We didnt think we would actually see a bear but in the end saw 5, which is very lucky as alot of people we spoke to hadn't seen one. Wildlife was everywhere in this Park especially Bison (Buffallo) which kept wondering into the Road and not moving. Sam somehow upset one which charged at Louis and, luckily for us, veered at the last minute. Also saw two snakes and was woke up one morning by a rattlesnake outside the tent. We didnt leave for another two hours!!! Also saw Moose, Bald Eagles, Wolves and Chipmunks.
Yellowstone is so Big and there is so much to do its impossible to do it all but we did drive the loop road around the whole Park which is nearly 150 miles.
We spent alot of the first day checking out the Geysers and Volcanic Pools which are beautiful. You walk on a raised path over volcanic land which is very surreal, like another planet. Old Faithful is the biggest Geyser but only erupts every hour and a half, but we did get to see it on the second attempt.
Next day we saw so many waterfalls and canyons around the park and also got into the 'Boiling River' which is where hot volcanic water meets the icy cold mountain river. Its not warm, either freezing in places or boiling depending on where you stood. Sam didnt want to swim no more after a snake was found in the river!!!!!!!!!!!
Also visited Mammoth Hot Springs which again is very surreal. You couldn't swim in these as they were 150 degrees but were stunning.
Again its impossible to sum up this place fully and above is only a breif description of what we saw in two days!!!!!
