Saturday 7 - Sunday 8 July (Oban)
Awoke with a very sore head to another typical W Highland weather day, so decided Nick could "do" Oban. We discovered the Oban Inn, just off the North Pier, an old pub full of character and characters, and a ceiling completely decorated with boat ensigns. Booked a meal for that evening at Ee-Usk (again) and enjoyed another excellent seafood meal. For Sunday we had planned a sail round Kerrera while awaiting the rest of our crew, but following day dawned to F7 winds, followed by monsoon-like rainfall so we had another lazy day. The evening cleared up, and we dined again at the Waypoint with lovely evening sun views across the bay to Oban, and shared a couple of gills with the friendly barman, whose name (true!) is Gordon Brown!
