Benjamins Round Britain Cruise
Saturday 23 June (Tarbert to Ardrishaig)
This was a fairly short sail, but accomplished under canvas again the whole way, and this time without the showers. We were helped into the sea lock of the Crinan Canal by the lock-keepers, who then gave us instructions and the key to the showers, in exchange for £95.06 for our passage through the canal! We explored the main street, rather over-full of unpleasant youths and noisy but harmless drunk men, and had a couple of drinks and booked a meal for later at the Argyll Arms, a rather small and very busy pub/restaurant/hotel. The meal later was excellent and good value, especially with the 10% discount for canal users.
