Australia Trip 2017
Fitzroy Crossing was settled in the 1880's to service the pastoralists in the area. It now has a population of approximately 1500 in the town area.
One of the tours to go on while at Fitzroy is a boat tour up the Geikie Gorge, conducted by the Dept. of Parks and Wildlife. A ranger from the department explains about the the geological structure, wildlife and the cultural significance of the area.
Apart from the amazing colours of the rock formation and the colour of the water there is wildlife everywhere.
Fresh water crocs can be seen everywhere.
It was very interesting and not to be missed if you are passing through the area.
