Margaret River, the home of the Margaret River Surfing Classic.
The area set up for the competition is great, with good views and lots of space but when the surfing faithfull are here I guess it would fill up pretty quickly. The waves weren't very big on the day we were here but they get some huge waves on competition days.
Once again magnificent coastline with crystal clear water.
Then it was away from the coast a bit and into the land of wineries, chocolate, nougat and cheese factories where samples had to be tried and tested. Too much chocolate and not enough time.
We passed through a little town called Cowaramup.
All through this little town life size fiber glass friesian cows and calfs can be seen and a story depicting the beginning is on one of the shop windows.
A further drive through coastal forest areas brought us back to the caravan park where we are staying 'till Monday and then hit the road again a little more north. It's a long weekend here and apparently a jazz festival is on in town so we'll go and check it out.
