From Blenheim we drove to Abel Tasmen again, as my Mum and Dad wanted to go there and it was so beautiful that we were happy to stay there for a few more nights.

We first drove to Golden bay and went for a long walk to Farewell split. It poured down on the way back so we all got completely soaked and had to get changed back in the van. We bought some cakes from the shop and sat in the van having a nice hot cuppa and chozing the cakes. In Golden bay, they have a problem with whales being stuck sometimes and have had hundreds at times. It was quite sad to think that a lot of them died, before anyone could get them back in the water.

The next day we went back to Kaiteriteri, where we had done a Kayaking/ walking trip a month before. We went for a 4 hour walk around the coast, stopped for a little picnic on the beach and then walked back. It was really hot that day too, so in the evening we just enjoyed a few drinks in the pub to help us refresh! he he.

After Abel tasmen, we made our way to Nelson as Hayles friend Mez is living there so we went for a lovely meal with her and her boyfriend Craig. We all had too much to drink, as usual and time flew by but was good to see her and was a shame we had to say goodbye.

Then we drove to Picton and stayed a night there, ready for our ferry back to the North Island the next day. We went for a wonder around the town, played mini golf and then had fish and chips. Yum!
