Mike and I decided to have a day apart for once and it was really lovely to have some time to do exactly what we each wanted to do rather then what the other person wanted to. My day was pretty chiilled and I looked around the small shops, managed to buy a lovely painting and after getting lost a few time decided to give up on the idea of visiting some of the monuments til another day. I was pretty homesick to be honest so spent the afternoon just chilling out and deciding what I really wanted from the next month of travelling.
Mikes day was slighty more fun as he and Dan spent about 6hr shopping in the market for some pants for Dan and a hoody for mike. They also managed to sort out what we were doing in the evening.....Salsa dancing!!!
Obviously the boys thought it was a good ide for us to drink a whole bottle of rum before we went out and so after a few drinks at the hostel we went to meet a friend of Dans in the square to take us to the party. Now nothing is ever quite as we think it will be. We had all thought we were going to a little party....oh no we jump in a taxi to the middle of nowhere and end up at this massive rock-salsa concert! We were the only white people there so as you can imagine we got a serious amount of attention. The beer was flowing, everyone was dancing and eventually we didnt care how rediculous we looked and danced the night away. I nearly had two guys fighting because i danced with the wrong one and mike managed to get a very strange peruvian woman to ask him to go back to her house. I dont think she was asking him back for a Pisco sour! None of the locals quite realised we were there just to have a laugh and eventually we managed to loose the wierd ones and headed back into town.
We went to this club Deja Vu which had a terrace up on the roof which overlooked the city. It was lovely and when Dan decided to ´GET BAD' and buy a bottle of vodka we knew the night was going to be one to remember! We stayed drinking there for quite a long time and when i decided to leave at 6.30am the boys were still only three quatres of the way through the vodka. I ended up safely back at the hostel with Mikes camera (I didnt quite trust him not to loose it) so when he turned up an hour later looking for it I think he was just a biut relieved! No you would think that that was the night over but no. The boys carried on drinking with some street people until 9am, had a brush with the local Maffia and eventually fell into bed at 9.30am. What a night!
