A glorious day, pleasantly hot. The harbour bustling, some serious boating hardware either sailing or engining in and out, & ferries don't count.
For me an early morning trot along the coast road to see where it went. The bitumen became a pebble beach, various people's front yards, a taverna dining area on the beach & after an hour I was in a goat yard on the waterfront. Hmm, mystery solved.
Breakfast was ripe peaches, apricots & nectarines - real ones that have loads of flavor, with thick fresh yoghurt. Then a wander through the rabbit warren of lanes and byways, up and down staircases exploring the neighborhood, and ogling boats.
Emily & I booked to feed the fish with our feet - first apptmt, while they are still hungry. Hazel found the Internet cafe, we did some more fresh food provisioning, and yes, checked out some shops, the ones with greek product got the nod, and Hazel's money, and yes, I succumbed to an iced coffee.
Then hit the beach. The obligatory sunbed & umbrella on the small pebble beach cost 3 euro each for the day. With a taverna adjacent, a good deal! Water shallow for 1 meter then in deep clear blue water, swimming with fish. That was our day, followed by dinner of stuffed eggplant, wild vegetable, reminiscent of spinach but not, melt in the mouth lamb in lemon. Emily kept her lamb souvlaki to herself, no sharing in that corner of the table!
Oh dear, we have to do this all again tomorrow.
