Got off the sleeper bus at 7! As I had one of the middle bunks I didn't sleep very well because I kept thinking I was going to fall off either side!
We shared a taxi to the old quarter with a girl from Malaysia and a boy from Canada! The girl was telling is it's probably not the best time to be going to Malaysia when we are in 3 weeks because they are still in Ramadan! I think we can work around this though!
It was chucking it down! We had booked a room for tonight at Titanic Guest House where we stayed before but they were not checking out till 11! Great what are we going to do for 4 hours! We dumped our bags and went to get breakfast!
Went to Joma Bakery! It's a company from Laos who gives 30% of all there profits to charity but they do not advertise they do this! We heard from friends! Weird!
Michael wants a new phone case we we went shopping! The phone cases are beautiful here! We walked down market street!
All the streets here are named after what they sell, it's strange. Examples of this include banana street, comb street, pan street, shoe street, bag street, toy street etc etc! All the stalls down the street sell the same thing! Organisation or what!
Michael ended up spending £68 on two tops, a pair or shorts and some trainers! I didn't think this was good for Vietnam but he said he would pay that for each item at home!
I bought a paid of All Star trainers! Don't know if I'm an All Star kind of girl but I like them!! I also need more then a single pair of flip flops so you could say that they are essentials?? They cost me 250000 dong (£7).
The 'fakes' here are all real. As the factories making the branded stuff, an inspector goes around and checks the quality of the stock and randomly sticks a 'not suitable' sticker on them, then sells them to the stalls instead of destroying them.
Got back to the room at 11! Bumped into Celine who invited us to the cinema later on! I was so tired but at 12.30 we went anyway!
It was still raining but the receptionist said we could walk there! After 40 minutes of walking we got a taxi because the film was about to start! It was still another 10 minutes in a taxi! So you can't really walk there when it's pouring with rain!
Jumped and pushed ourselves way to the front of the que standing on all the children on the way! Ice age 4!!! So excited more then any of these kids! Get out of my way!
It was hilarious! Weird being in a cinema though! It was an English film with Vietnamese subtitles like the one in Phnom Penh!
After the film we went to get something to eat then went to the super market! Spent 15 minutes running around trying to find non whitening shower gel! They sold snail face masks! Actual snail!
Got a taxi home and chilled for a bit! This travelling malarkey takes it out of you!
Got ready and went to meet Lee at play boy on the river as she was meeting us to take us for a Vietnamese meal!
We were treating Toni and Lee to the meal as they have done so much for us! They took us to a restaurant called Quan An Ngon which it a Vietnamese restaurant!
We tried all sorts of Vietnamese food, we ordered all the dishes and shared everything including;
-Bun Cha which is pork in noodles that are spicy, I didn't have this though!
-Banh Canh Cua which is spaghetti looking thick noodles in a sweet and sour sauce with vegetables.
-Banh Bot Loc which was pork in a birth sack looking thing! Didn't have this either and doubt I would even if I ate meat!
-Ha Cao Tom Cua which is crab and prawn in dumpling.
-Nom Du Du Lac which is green papaya salad and tasted absolutely amazing!
-Banh Tom Hanoi which is shrimp on a pancake and is famous in this restaurant.
It was all lovely!
From the restaurant we got a taxi to Betta Bar, somewhere they go to often, a group of other tourists were being turned away and we walked straight in as we were with locals! BYE!!!
Betta Bar is a quirky little place, it's 3 stories high with weird art and furnationings! Loved it though! We ordered wine again! Maybe I'll get used to it in time! We had Mancura Etnia White Wine! It was ok...
We then ordered alcoholic coffee, mine had Vietnamese coffee, hazelnut, ammaretto, cinnamon and some other things I can't remember. I didn't like it.
Me, Michael and Lee shared a taxi home at about 1 ish!
