Woke up in Hue, spent the day in Da Nang and the night in Hoi An! 3 big cities in a day that's a record for us I think! We didn't mean to though ...
Got up, packed and checked out 8, the bus came at 8.30. It was already full so I had to sit behind Michael! Next to this smelly horrible Asian guy! I mean really, heard of water? As soon as I sat down I decided I would rather walk! He was really touchy about life, you know the sort, heavy breathing the lot!! Luckily I could swap to sit next to Michael!
Stopped off at a stall for half an hour! The buses always stop in the most random places! But my god, travellers do stink! This English guy near us was just dirty. Smelly, greasy, dirty clothes! You know the stupid boys who don't have the inteligence to wear there trousers over there bum, he was the worst I have seen I could see the bottom of his boxers and all his legs! How is this comfortable?
We learnt that this looks originated from prisons in Australia where boys would wear there trousers hanging off there bums which meant they were willing to get bummed! Seriously boys, pull them up!
So the bus stopped, the driver just screams the place that we are and the appropriate people get off. We were in Da nang so we got off! Got hassled by taxi guys for a bit till I got my karate skills out and faught them off! Went to a travel agent to ask where was good to stay! Stayed in there for a bit with two other girls called Becca and Charlotte.
It then suddenly dawned on us that we were in the wrong city! We got off the bus in the wrong city! If my grandparents didnt read this I would be swearing right now.
As the cup is always half full though, we decided to make the most of it! We got the travel agent to book us a bus later that day in 4 hours time to Hoi An where we are supposed to be! It only cost 60000 dong (£1.85) so it could have been worse!
We left our rucksacks with these strangers then went for a walk around the city! Walked to K Cafe and I got some rice, an iced coffee and they give you free vietnamese iced tea. Michael didn't want anything!
We walked to the river side! They have all of these weird looking statues decorating the bank, words can't describe them!
We then walked to the Museum of Cham Sculptures. So basically it was a building full of rocks. As if we havnt seen enough rocks and bricks in Asia! Oh well got to make the most of it! Some of it was pretty amazing though! Who has the time to carve these boulders into huge animals!
The upstairs part of the museum was the better part, no rocks it was all emperors chairs, worshipping places and ornaments!
After this was the gallery of sculptures! I'm telling you, if there is anything worse then looking at rocks it's looking at pictures of rocks. My eyes glazed over and I was sleep walking through it! Not really, I'm totally taking in all the culture! ;)
Michael was hungry so we went on an hours trek around the city to find him food! There is a lot of cafes here but no where sells food, it's very strange! We ended up in this modern bakery which suited Michael fine!
Went back to the travel agents and chilled in there for a bit! Our bus actually arrived on time and it was a sleeper bus! People got off and we got on! Was only on it for an hour but it was a nice bus!
Some aggressive guy rounded up a load of travellers to go to his hotel, he offered a free transfer there so we thought why not!
When we arrived there it was absolute paradise! One of the best places we have stayed in! It had a swimming pool! How crazy is that! We went into the room and we had complimentary shampoo, soap, ear buds and a comb!!!!!! This is the actual ritz!!!! This is how we should be travelling! It cost 250000 dong (£7.50) between both of us!
Went downstairs to eat after we had calmed down from our excitement from the room! We both ordered pizzas as we don't usually order western but thought it would be nice as we are in a nice guest house! Boy we were wrong! It was horrible!
Dragged Michael to the night market as we only have tonight and tomorrow day time here and we need to make the most of it!
If you want to buy cheap good quality clothes in South East Asia, Vietnam is the place to do it. The best place in Vietnam to shop is Hoi An! The shops were incredible! The clothes were beautiful!
Every single shop was a clothes shop. Each shop has about 20 mannequins outside then half mannequins hung on the outside of the doors and all the way along the roof! No space is wasted! Inside is worse! Loads of mannequins, tables full of clothes and all the walls were shelves full of materials as they make clothes for you. It's insane!
Walked to the end of the market without buying anything as we would buy a couple of things on the way back but we don't have the room or money for anything! Stopped for a drink at the end of the market and ended up spending 3 hours there talking to a guy called Steve and his two girl friends from America but they live in Korea!
The end of the market is on the river. Everything is to lit up with hundreds of lights and lanterns! Everyone was being harassed by locals to buy these candles in colourful boxes that you set on the river and let it float away! It looked beautiful!
When we set off back through the market at 9 everything was shutting! We didn't end up buying anything! This was probably for the best though!
We definitely want to come back here just for shopping! There is also so many sights to see!
It's been a very long day so we chilled in the room all night!
