Three nights in Olympos.
We are staying at the Saban Pension, in the bohemian tiny town of Olympos. There are ruins of the ancient city of Olympos (Roman and later) are down by the beach, and to get to the beach you pay 3 lira for on day or 5 for a multiday pass through the archaeological site. The rest of the valley is full of small pensions with treehouses in orchards or around large chillout areas, and the guidebook warned us it would be full of drunk Aussies and Kiwis this soon after anzac day. There don't see to be that many around though.
The first night we arrived it started raining and we had a massive thunderstorm during the night. The treehouses are basically sheds on stilts with open windows, so we were lucky the wind was blowing in the right direction for us and we didn't get wet.
The following day it rained pretty much all day, so most of the group sat around in the gazebos in the garden, reading or looking at the internet. It was a bit sad for our last couple of beach days but in the end we are glad we aren't camping. Also the food is provided here for breakfast and dinner, and it is delicious! So we are well fed and lazing around all day... bad combination maybe :P
The second day has been slightly brighter but still not sunny. Shane and I and a few others checked out the city ruins and the beach during the afternoon. The city remains are almost completely covered with forest but tthere are still quite a lot of walls standing of various buildings. Very impressive temple ruins and also houses with mosaics. The beach is also really nice - shame it wasn't nicer weather really!
Er, hello to everyone who is reading this because someone on the trip sent you a link :)
