Three nights at Ölüdeniz, staying at Sugar Beach campsite.
The day we arrived was Queen's Day in the Netherlands. Our two Dutch people organised a party and we were all asked to wear something orange, so all sorts of imaginitive costumes were devised. We had a great night, complete with orange punch.
The next day was bright and sunny and after a great hangover breakfast of egg sandwiches, Shane and I spent the morning on the beach (during which time I managed to burn my shins to a crisp), then chilled in a café in the afternoon. Some of our group went up and did paragliding from the cliffs behind the town - they said it was brilliant and from the photos and video it certainly looks amazing. The paragliders land on the promenade along the beach, and we did actually see a dramatic landing where a lady managed to crash right into a couple having lunch - arms and legs and lunch went flying!
The second day the whole group booked a boat to take us to the coves and beaches near Oludeniz. It wasn't quite so sunny as the previous day to start with and we had to battle the waves to get onto the boat at the beach, but after the first stop at Butterfly Valley (where you have to pay 5 lira if you want to walk up to the waterfall!), the sun came out again and we even managed to swim in the freezing ocean. Lunch was provided and was really nice too, although the drinks were a bit expensive on board. We got back at about 6 and the cook group made us delicious curry.. each cook group keeps upping the ante with meals, they are getting really nice!
