We only drove for a couple more hours, making it into Belgium before we stopped at a services for the night. Yes that's right, we parked the truck across several carparks in a motorway services, and camped on the grass in the picnic area. The first cook group was just dishing up dinner when the police pulled up to see what we were up to. Apparently they thought we were pikies (that's gypsies), but after a bit of an explanation from Steve and a chat with the owner of the services everything was okay and we were allowed to stay.
The group seems good so far and is pretty mixed - there are a few Aussies, and there are people from the UK, Holland, Ireland, the US, Canada, Norway, South Africa and Germany. Quite a range of ages as well - we have a couple of 19 year olds and 3 people over 60! There are also no less than 3 Shanes, and 3 Steves! All seem friendly and there are quite a few who have done this sort of thing before so they know how most of it works.
