Anna's Escapades.
Woke up at 7.15, for breakfast at 8.00 and ready to leave hotel in Anghangama at 8.30. Our first stop was a family run turtle hatchery. The hatchery buy the turtle eggs from fishermen for a little mire money than they would otherwise earn if they skid them to be eaten. The eggs are then buried for 65 days when they will hatch. The hatchery will then keep them for 4 days before releasing them. As well as baby turtles. The hatchery also had a fully grown leatherback for breeding purposes, and an injured turtle whose flipper had been sliced off by an outboard motor, who could never be released. Having looked round the hatchery for around 1/2 an hour, we got back on the bus and headed to the city of Galle.
