Got up at around 5.20am to get ready as we were leaving Montreal today and catching the first bus of the day to Boston. I didn't feel sad to be leaving Canada, infact I couldn't wait! We had a great time there but 3 months was too long. It has been an emotional three months; I've had some real highs and some definite lows. I'm happy to be heading to the States.
The bus absolutely stank of piss! Not good :( We left at 8.15am and just after 9.30am we were already at the border. The whole process took around an hour but then we had our green cards and were ready to get back on the bus and say our goodbye's to Canada and hello United States of America!! It didn't feel like we were anywhere different though! Along the way we drove through Vermont, White River, Montpelier, Burlington, Concorde, Manchester New Hampshire. We made a transfer and luckily the second bus didn't smell of urine!! It should have been an 8 hour journey but ended up being nearly 9. It went suprisingly quick though considering this was the first time on a Greyhound bus where we didn't actually stop for any breaks! Obviously we made stops to drop people off and pick people up but not actually for us to get off and get anything to eat or drink which we were really surprised about! When we got to Boston instead of heading straight to the hostel we grabbed a McDonalds. We then grabbed a cab to the hostel. We couldn't really get a sense of the area because it was dark when we arrived. We made ourselves a much needed cup of tea when we arrived and had a chill out. We'll start exploring the city tomorrow.
