There's no point me doing a blog entry for Sunday- it was the same boring coach and the same boring scenery- I can't believe that some of the places we travelled through are originally places Kelly and I planned on visiting before we saw them or knew much about them. There was just nothing around for miles and miles!! And to think people's reactions to us getting the Greyhound instead of flying was "oh well, at least that way you'll get to see the country". There was not a great deal to see!
We had an hour's break from noon and were due to arrive in Toronto at 6.15pm. Brilliant I thought, these last 5 hours will fly by! But oh no! They had to be the longest 5 hours of my life- it dragged like you wouldn't believe. All I wanted was to get there. I actually began to question whether Toronto really existed! I've never felt so grimy- not even at Reading festival!! My hair was pure grease and we'd been in the same clothes for 3 days! We both had showers as soon as we got to the hostel!
I'll say one thing for it, I think any traces of travel sickness I may have had left have been well and truly cured, especially as the coach was always my worst form of transport!
We drove through a residential area before we arrived downtown which was really lovely. It was tree lined streets and the leaves were bright yellow and orange and they covered the roads too. The houses were beautiful and they had pumpkins on the steps and other Halloween decorations. I've never been anywhere where Halloween is so hugely celebrated- it had such a nice feel to the place.
My first impressions of Toronto are good. There were some lovely buildings on the drive in too.
The hostel is really nice! It looks really pretty from the outside too. The guy that runs it is lovely and very helpful. It does lack a few basic things and the rooms are quite small but it is very clean and has a nice feel to it.
I'm soooo looking forward to sleeping in a bed tonight after 2 nights on a coach!
