I've missed out Thursday and Friday's blogs as we didn't do a whole lot. One hostel, 16 nights, approx 6-7 separate bookings, 4 rooms and 12 room mates later it's time to check out of the HI-Banff Alpine!! We had to check out of our room this morning ready to move into another this afternoon so after breakfast we headed into town and did the Fenland trail which is a woodland walk, and also the trail to the Vermilion Lakes. They were nice but they had quite an eerie feel about them. Despite getting up early and giving ourselves plenty of time to get ready we still ended up rushing for the bus. We had to rush for the coach too once we got off the bus because the Banff buses are only every 40 minutes and the best one for us to catch this morning only gave us 15 minutes to make it to the Greyhound station and the coaches are only every 4-5 hours!! Today we went on a couple of trails. The first was to the 'Cave & Basin' which is where the hot springs were first dicovered leading to the start of Canada's first national park. Disappointingly both the cave and the basin is closed at the moment as they are re-furbishing it to increase it's appeal as a tourist destination I think and isn't due to re-open until 2012!! Popped to an information centre this morning to see what else we can do here as we're here for another week. We haven't really been up to much over the past few days and we've been feeling a little bored at times but we now have a few things planned for the week ahead so we're feeling better about that.
