Hi y'all!! Am back from my first sojourn into the jungle. Who knew howler monkeys roar at each other all night at high volume?! Never heard such a racket before. Makes my naughty neighbourhood foxes sound well mannered.

The ruins at Palenque are beautiful as they emerge from the depths of the jungle. Despite bus loads of European tourists it still managed to feel peaceful. Am still finding the massive steps up & down the pyramids quite a challenge after last year's tumble down the stairs. No other option but to face my fears & climb more tomorrow ;).

Arrived in Merida after 8 hour bus ride. Only here one day which is sad as loads to do. Had dinner of coconut shrimp in garden cafe open to the stars with live music. Really chilled!
