Errrrr all my photos of today's trip to Uxmal & Kabah are on my camera so am attaching photo of Palenque. I know entirely different ruins....but one photo of a temple is better than none. Btw the photo is of the Temple of the Inscriptions where Pakal's tomb & amaaaazing jade mask was discovered.

Soooo today...more ruins but they just keep getting better. Top fact for the day... the later period Maya loved a big phallus in the middle of a ceremonial plaza! For centuries women have touched it to aid fertility. I gave it a big hug just in case!

Dinner at Chaya Maya....utterly delicious yucateca grub followed by the most gorgeous hot chocolate with cinnamon & nutmeg. Mmmmmmmmmmm :). Another top fact...choco-la-te means bitter water in the original Mayan language.
