After a surprisingly good sleep in the hardest beds have ever tried, alarm went off at 5 & joined others from the tour to trek part way up the volcano to the Cross to watch the sunrise. Never trekked in the dark before. Thank goodness for my head torch! Was understandably very cold but wow was so worth it when the sun began to rise, little by little, over the volcanoes. Sooo after the yummiest smoothie i've ever tasted (blackcurrant & yoghurt :)) we clambered over a tiny path that wound round the lake edge until we arrived at Casa Ven Aca (House Come in!) with a infinity pool & boiling hot jacuzzi. Was just us, the bar staff, a few stray dogs and some of the yummiest mojitos ever invented. My favourite was with basil & rosa de jamaica.
