Hi everyone,

We only had 2 days in christchurch so spent our time being all touristy! We visited the cathedral, rode on the really cute tram that does a circuit around the city, went on the gondola which gave us lovely views of christchurch and the surrounding area, visited the art gallery and Canterbury museum for a bit of cultural elightenment! and finally chilled out in the botanical gardens with an ice cream where we found a tree bigger than the one in Milford Sound!!

For our last night in NZ, we went out for a big meal with all the friends we had made on the Kiwi bus- there was 15 of us in total. We went to a swanky resturant called sticky fingers and treated ourselves to a big fat cow each, followed by a big donut for D, cheesecake for R, and chocolate bennett for tart!! Cant afford to eat now for the next 2 weeks!! but was sooo worth it!!

After the meal we were good kates and went back to the hostel to drink some wine before hitting the town for one last party in NZ. We visited a couple of bars but the vibe wasnt really there so we called it a night- didnt like partying in christchurch.

Overall we have had the most amazing time in NZ, the scenery is out of this world, the food, people and company have all been fantastic- feel like we have made some good friends- NONE OF US WANT TO LEAVE!!!!!!!

Hard to imagine at the moment how australia is going to compete.......
