Hi everyone finally had chance to update the journal for you to take a look. Hope everyone is ok and that your not missing us all too much or wondering how brown we are yet ha ha! Bennett - surprise surprise is still white and the insects still love her.
For starters we all landed safely in LA after a long 10.5 hour flight but we kept ourselves entertained with free stuff and movies - had no idea they gave out free wine but the offer was taken advantage ofand D was corrected when asking if the wine was free - the hostesses reply was its not free we like to call it complimentary!!
When we arrived we got picked up bya guy called James who dropped us off at our hostel and we walked down Hollywood Boulevard and saw the Hollywood sign, the Kodak and Chinese theatres and had a look at the foot and hand prints made my all the famous dudes! We had Pizza in a diner - very sex and the city ha ha! Then headed back as the jet lag had finally caught up with us. Hollywood is great to see but full of weirdos like a foreigner in our dorm who decided to tell bennett that she was in her bed - the woman would not shut up so i told her to get out and she did ha ha ha!
Next day up bright and early and so excited as we were off to the city that never sleeps LAS VEGAS - complete rubbish - it does sleep :( but that hard core story comes in a bit :) Took about 4 hours on tour with a stereotypical shuttle bus driver called Jim who showed us the sight and sounds of the Las Vegas strip. We met some irish lads neil niall and adian on the trip - such a good laugh and good fun to go out with. We spent our first afternoon around the pool with pints of beer yep even D drank it - only 1 dollar you cant complain. That evening Jim took three quite tipsy kates down the las vegas strip to see the light show in downtown - everyones waiting for youuuuuuuu - las vegas which was fab - we brought a bright blue drink called kamikaze which froze our tongues and made us crazy and hyper so that when jim got us all back on the coach we were entertaining everyone with our gorgeous singing voices whether they liked it or not! We then took in the first half of the strip starting with the stratosphere where D and i went on rubbish rides that are supposed to be made for adrenaline. The view from the top however was wellw worth the money. Then we walked up to the Venetian, where lots of men in stripy tops sang to those whogot on a gondola (a true touch of italy) and was one of our favourite hotels, we also went tothe Mirage with a free water and light show that turned water into a volcanic eruption, and Treasure Island where we saw a pirate show with a ship that sank and lots of fit men in cloth!!! Vegas is a totally overwhelming city that we just couldnt quite get over - we loved it so much we are already planning an annual booze up - anyone who wants to join us post your request on our message board!!!!!
The next day we set off bright and early after a wake up call (which D answered in her best english accent - Morning were up - and put the phone down - just so it would stop ringing (it was only 6 in the morning after a big night out) and everyone was really excited and our first stop on route to Arizona was Hoover Dam in the Nevada desert. However we hit a problem only three minutes away from out breakfast stop and our bus broke down! :( We made the best of it andsunbathed on the police concorse where we had broken down. They couldnt fix the bus so this mechanic guy called Bill took us all in the back of his pick up - very windy - to the next Gas station where we had breakfast and waited and waited and waited..... Only at about 3 in the afternoon did we get a replacement bus - by this time we were very good mates with the irish lads and a german girl called Nina and as the bus pulled up we were told out replkacement was a limo bus - proper homy style transportation complete with leather seating, massive screen and ice containers (im getting the piss ripped at the mo for writing too much detail so im gona stop now) anyway got to the grand canyon as the sun was setting - gorgeous and well worth the trip even if it was cut short. Drive back was spent drinking lots eating pizza and ripping the piss out the irish lads.
When we got back to Vegas at about one in the morning we quickly got changed and went straight out to the new york new york hotel to catch a glimpse of the coyote ugly bar whichhad lots of bra's dangling from the bar from the ceiling from everywhere you looked really. We went to the hard rock cafe hotel to do some gambling, and then onto Mandaly bay for more drinks (posh place - d really liked this one). Then back to our hotel at 6.30 for breakfast crashed out after an amrican style breakfast (b was hyper on all the sugar from the large amounts of maple syrup she had on her pancakes).
After two hours sleep we went quickly round the rest of the strip - new york new york for the roller caoster that goes in and out of the hotel, mgm grand (lions), luxor (shaped like a pyramid) excalibur (pants) and the stunning bellagio (fountains didnt go off but it was till gorgeous).
Now in Fiji and have salready seen a kava ceremony and blue star fish and little nemos - d chased a fish and got disorientated whilst snorkelling and had to get out of the water after falling over very gracefuly! :)
Off to beachcomber tomorrow for some partying on fijian time so will update when we can - thanks for all the messages from home - keep them coming.
Lots and lots of love k,k,k xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
