Set of in morning and I drove for first 3 hours, by which point I was knackered from nights before drinking so got Andy to take over so I could have a kip. Stopped of at a service station couple hours later and met the three Irish guys from the Whitsundays cruise who were heading back to Brisbane! I took over driving again and we arrived Rockhampton about hour later. Very quite town whcih wa slike a ghost town when we arrived. About 4pm and everything deserted or shutting up, very bizarre. Went out that evening to a bar/grill and had a beautiful Steak and Chips (8 months in th waiting for it) my word did it taste good and a nice belated birthday meal to have!!!!
Next day headed to Koroona Crocodile Farm and here saw plenty of Crocs which we were taking on guided tour of by owner as he fed them. Some real big ones here and at end of tour were given a baby one to hold. Very strange soft to touch creature and aparently even the full grown ones are that soft which is hard to imgaine given the way they drag themselves across the dirt. Really interesting place and glad headed out here to see.
Not a lot else to write about Rockhampton only really stopped here to break the giant drive up and to visit this Croc Farm. Oh yeah and only wanted to write this so I could tell everyone about my steak and chips which were a real treat.
Next stop Rainbow Beach where we would be departing for our Fraser Island experience, and have to say this is one thing I have been really excited about in Oz since I have not heard a bad report from anybody about it and most people say number one memory for them, so roll on the good times!!!!
