Sunday, July 2, 2017 Miles to go: 50, not counting the ferry
Time Leaving: 9:00 a.m. Temp: 51 degrees
Saying for the day: Never regret being a good person to the wrong people. Your behavior says everything about you, and their behavior says enough about them.
We leave for Coupeville to get the ferry to Port Townsend at the Keystone Ferry Terminal. Cherries everywhere at road side stands, so of course, we must stop. We got about 2 lbs. for $6.00. OH yes, this is Washington: Cherries and Cannabis for sale, everywhere.
We park at the South Park Jetty till we leave on the ferry at 12:30, we got here pretty early. We see a lot of Pigeon Guillemotts and watch the Kennewick and Sarish ferries come in, unload and load and go back out to Port Townsend. Some Navy guys are practicing in the water with their Scuba equipment. Lots of folks come here to Scuba.
Our ferry, the Kennewick, pulls in at 12:10, we load and pull out at 12:30, right on time. Arrive Port Townsend at 12:55 pm.
Find our campground at 1:15, not far. YAY, early enough to get a full hookup site!
Head out to find a place for lunch and then spent a wonderful evening with Russ and Cheryl. We walked to the Bluff at 9:20pm and watched the sun set into the Bay. We haven't seen that in awhile.
Arrive: Port Townsend, Washington, State Fairgrounds Campground
How long staying: 8 days
