Temp: 58 degrees
Saying for the day: I'm not bossy; I just know what you should be doing.
We had a wonderful breakfast at Russ and Cheryl's - Bob Nelson's daughter and son in law. Then we chatted for most of the morning. Headed out about noon and drove around the Marina, downtown, saw where Cheryl works, at a garden center. Then to see a really odd looking house being built way up that looks just like a space ship. It was wild, be sure to see the pic.
Had some lunch at "Sirens" on the second floor deck where we could look out at the Bay and see the ferry we arrived on going in and out, kayaks, and all kinds of boats.
Then to Fort Worden and the Battery where we learned some history and did a lot of walking around. We could just barely see Mt. Rainier today way off in the distance but could see Mt. Baker well. We did see a cruise ship go by and saw a bunch of Madrona trees - a truly beautiful tree. Pic to see on that too.
We arrived back at the campground at 7:45 and we were quiet tired. A really fun day overall.
How long staying: 5 more days
